Ogallala/Keith County Candidate Forum
The Ogallala/Keith County Chamber of Commerce will host a local candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Ogallala High School Performing Arts Center. Moderator for the event will be Ogallala resident Bob Josjor.
Members of the public are invited to come and meet and greet with the candidates starting at 6 p.m., with the forum starting at 6:30 p.m.
Candidates will be featured from the following three contested races in Keith County: Keith County Commissioners, Ogallala City Council and Ogallala School District I. Candidates will be allowed to provide statements and answer questions from the public.
Those running for the three different offices that will be featured during the evening are as follows:
Ogallala School District I: Doug Davis, David Kling, Tania Perlinger and Amanda J. Christensen. Three of the candidates will be voted into office.
Ogallala City Council: Darrell “Buck” Bassett, Kevin Block and L.D. Walker. Two of the candidates will be voted into office.
Keith County Commissioner: Corey L. Crandall, Republican and Harold “Pete”Peterson, Democrat. One will be voted into office.
Information on LB840, a local economic development plan, otherwise known as Resolution 1835, will also be given. Additional time will be available after the forum to speak to the candidates and refreshments will be served.
